Reading books may 2023

May 2023 Reading Wrap-Up

I read a total of nine books in May, ranging from 2.5 to five stars. Here are my quick-fire reviews of each book in the order I read them. You can buy any of the books I read this month here. Happy reading ✨

Liars Beach by Katie Catugno
⭐⭐⭐.5 - Linden goes to stay in Martha’s Vineyard at his friend’s house when that friend’s enemy ends up lying facedown in the pool. This is a short and compelling read great for an older YA audience.

Very easy read, I didn’t guess the ending but I do feel it came a bit out of nowhere… my money was on the housekeeper! Holiday was one of of the only redeeming characters, the others were a bit shallow and whiny.

The Fine Print by Lauren Asher
⭐.25 - Heir to billions Rowan must renovate Dreamland. A Simple goal. Until he meets Zahra. This is enemies to lovers and workplace romance.

Yeeeees to this! I nearly DNFed at around 70 pages and I’m SO glad I didn’t I read the rest in a day and a half. The workplace romance trope is fun fun fun

Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher
⭐⭐⭐ - After several failed engagement Declan needs to marry and have a child to inherit his grandfathers fortune. Luckily his PA Iris steps in, which should be a straightforward arrangement... until he catches himself looking for a second too long.

I read the first half 2/3 of this book so hard I got whiplash but the third act breakup didn’t hit for me. Iris deserved better I’m sorry.

Omg this was so good!!!! Read this in one sitting as it was on the shorter side and jammed packed with drama! Loved the concept and there were plenty of characters to keep you guessing ⭐️

The Last Word by Taylor Adams
⭐⭐⭐.5 - A cat and mouse chase between author and reader. After rating a book 1 star, a book reviewer begins being hunted by the author.

Full of chaos but there wasn’t enough characters for me - definitely a page turner but preferred the authors first book
